Here is what I wore last Wednesday, when I was running around taking pictures and spending far more time in a hot car than I like. Of course I didn't take pictures before I left, and it shows; the wrinkled dress, the tired face, the lack of light at the end of the day! But I really loved this outfit and wanted to post it, even if the pictures aren't that great, or, um, completely in focus. I also couldn't pick up any details, such as the matching lilac eyeshadow and nails... quelle horreur!

This early 1960s dress has been mine for a couple of years. When I got it, I loved it, then I sort of ruined it by wearing it with a dark red suede belt on a very hot, long day. Then I went off it for ages (I went off vintage in general for a bit, I suppose, or at least the '50s and '60s stuff)... and now, I like it again. Do you have cycles like that with your clothes?

I never could get all of that red dye out of the middle of the dress, but hey, the belt looked great with the mint green! Ah well, these things happen. It does mean that now I always have to wear this dress with a large belt – and it works really well, from a style point of view! I also like pairing the sweet, mint green gingham girlishness with a tougher black detail, and further accessorizing with black shoes and a black hair band. The black hair band is new and it's from sportsgirl, and I'll be wearing it a lot and so will be able to take better pics of it! I think I'll be wearing this dress a fair bit more in the next couple of weeks, too, if this autumn continues to be so hot... I'm so glad to like it again!
