Info Post

I'm not so sure I'll have the heart to go to the cinema and see this movie though I'll be strongly tempted when it comes out. I'm still terrified by my childhood memories of watching The Spiral Staircase or of just listening to the soundtrack of Dario Argento's Deep Red (Profondo Rosso), though it happened aeons ago. Thriller and ghost stories, horror and mystery films are not exactly my cup of tea. But I've seen several and even liked them. I must convince myself to see this one, I'm intrigued by the trailer, the pictures and everything I read about it.

Daniel Radcliffe as Arthur Kipps
Based on a novel by Susan Hill , the film tells of  a young solicitor, Arthur Kipps, who is summoned to Crythin Gifford, a small market town on the east coast of the United Kingdom to attend to the funeral of Mrs Alice Drablow, an elderly and reclusive widow who lived alone in the desolate and secluded Eel Marsh House. He decides to settle in that house, situated on Nine Lives Causeway which, at high tide,  is completely cut off from the mainland with only the surrounding marshes and sea frets for company. Kipps soon realises there is more to Alice Drablow than he originally thought. At the funeral he spots a woman dressed in black and with a pale, wasted face, who is watched in silence by a group of children. Over the course of several days, while sorting through Mrs Drablow's papers at Eel Marsh House, he endures an increasingly terrifying sequence of unexplained noises, chilling events and hauntings by the Woman in Black.

Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Ciaràn Hinds and Janet Mc Teer, the film directed by James Watkins will be released  on February 3,  2012 in the USA and February 10 in the UK.

Ciaràn Hinds and Janet McTeer

Now, since it's almost midnight, completely dark outside, I'm all alone in the living room typing and editing this post, the wind is blowing through the curtains and howling, since I startle at any little noise ... I'd better move to another film! But first ... did you notice? The rumour has been around since the first picture of Radcliffe as Kipps came out. Many people think they  look  pretty much alike. Mmm ... no, no, no, no. One of the two is pretty much better.

For every legend there is a new beginning

Now, this is something I really long to watch. Action, Adventure, Romance and ... Matthew MacFadyen, Orlando Bloom, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans, Logan Lerman , Christoph Waltz! Its release is announced  in Germany on 1st September,  the UK on 12th October, Italy on 14th October 2011, the USA on 21st October (read all the release dates HERE).
Location filming was done in Bavaria, Germany. The film is directed by Paul  W.S. Anderson.
The Take That have written and recorded the official single entitled "When We Were Young" released  on August 22
The hot-headed young D'Artagnan (Logan Lerman) joins forces with three veteran rogue Musketeers to prevent the villainous Cardinal Richelieu (Christoph Waltz) from seizing the French throne and engulfing Europe in war in this fast-paced, action-filled reboot of Alexandre Dumas' classic 17th-century adventure.

A classic story for the new generations, 3D steampunk-influenced interpretation.
