blue vintage chickens d A few weekends ago I got to meet some new chickens. I went to see my mother-in-law and her new chooks. The chicken yard has been empty for several months and it is very good news to have some little golden fluffy friends clucking around again. And not just for the eggs! They represent so much more. I am very happy to see them!

blue vintage chickens fI was obviously dressed for the farm in a vintage dress and cardigan and shoes from Gorman. (Ok, so it's not actually a farm, but we were in the chicken yard.) blue vintage chickens a I don't think they were as happy to see me. I had visions of us holding the chickens, giving them pats and generally being bestest friends with nature, but they had other ideas. In spite of my best calling, cooing, and making of that kissing noise we all (yes, you do it too) make for cats that actually almost always works, they wouldn't come near. They didn't want to know! blue vintage chickens cblue vintage chickens gblue vintage chickens bSo instead we amused ourselves taking photos with the kind of nature that can't run away. I saw Joanna Lumley on Graham Norton a while ago, talking about her modeling days. She explained some of the poses she did, which included "laughing with fruit" and, sometimes, "surprise at fruit". Here is my best laughing with blossoms. Thank you, Ms. Lumley! blue vintage chickens e
