Info Post

Neighborhood Change in Connecticut, from the University of Connecticut, uses the Google Maps API to allow users to compare historical aerial imagery with Google's more recent imagery.

Users can search for any Connecticut address and compare aerial imagery from two time periods, side by side.  It is currently possible to select satellite imagery from 1934, 1990, 2004 and 2006. Aerial imagery from the 1950s and 1970s is also in the pipeline.

The New Jersey State Atlas is using Google Maps to showcase aerial photography of the entire state taken in the 1930's.

The opacity of the aerial photo layer can be adjusted. This means it is possible to compare the aerial view of the state in the 1930's to Google's current satellite imagery and observe how the state has developed over the last 80 years.
