Here is the makeup detail from my last post. I was so chuffed to finally have a go at this. I received some coloured eyeliners and loose powders from Lime Crime to try, and finally got to give the orange liner a go. 
Of all the coloured liners I received, the orange was the one that stood out for me as being something I didn’t think I could wear. Bright orange liquid eyeliner?! And pale skin?
But I thought about it and decided it was in fact something I could do. Or at least try. I’ve seen some amazing looking bright eyeliner looks lately and decided that a contrast with a strong eye shadow could work.
I have sensitive skin and have had allergic reactions to some makeup in the past, so I am always careful to try new eye makeup products out for a month or so, to make sure they are ok for me.
I was actually sent this eye shadow a lot earlier than the liners. I have always loved bright eye shadows, but they can be hard to wear, especially for day time looks, and even more so when you wear a bright lip too.
I have also always loved loose eye shadows, but having separate brushes was a bit of a problem. I finally got some makeup brushes, nothing fancy, just from asos, to see if I would use them often and how I found them.
When I had red hair, I felt that coloured eye shadows were just a bit too much. Now that I have white-y blonde (currently lilac!) hair, I have been enjoying experimenting with different makeup looks, as I feel different things work with my new locks. Pale lips, different colours and so on.
I love the Twilight eye shadow colour, a blue with a bit of a purple hint that picks up my hair colour nicely, and has some sparkly shimmer. As I was also sent the eyelid primer, I decided to go all out and dabbed it on my lids first, and then applied the Twilight shade. I used a white shadow with a hint of blue sheen on my brow bone and inner corners, and then drew the orange line on the outer corner of my upper lid, ending with a wing. I painted a black line, Lime Crime’s liquid liner in Quill, from the inner to the outer corner, with a wing, beneath the orange, and finished with my Bourjois mascara. This mascara was sent to me some time ago and I love it! This tube is actually one I bought when the trial one ran out.
And voila. I loved this look, a bit different and some light colourful fun for spring. This time I finished off the look with my Illamasqua blusher in Lover and my Bourjois (sent to me a while ago to try, and it has been a favourite ever since, with both my red and blonde hair) lipstick Sweet Kiss Rouge Glamour.
I find the eyeliners great to use, and would replace my regular black liquid eyeliner with the Quill in a flash. The consistency is good, nice and runny but doesn’t run or drip when applying, and the brush is soft-enough-firm-enough to get a good clean line. It stays out for ages, and doesn’t crumble off as some can. I was also pleasantly surprised with the opacity of them, especially the paler and more colourful shades. They paint on well over darker shadows, even the white one. The orange colour is one will definitely enjoy wearing again, which is surprising! What is more surprising to me, though, is that the primer made a difference. I was always a bit suss of eye lid primers, and thought they seemed a bit too much like just another product to buy, but my eye shadow did stay in place all day, with no settling in the crease. Unusual, and good! 
There are so many makeup looks I want to try next. I’ve had some ideas up my sleeve for the longest time, and think it is high time I do them! Is there any look you’d like to see me do? Let me know in the comments!
