On Tuesday, I had the delight of meeting up with lovely Miss H for lunch. After some good toast and a bit too much coffee, she kindly offered to take some blog pictures for me, on a whim. We found a laneway behind the cafe, perfect for traditional blog pics (well, my kind of traditional blog pics!) and I think she did a great job. Thanks Miss H! Behold the awkward posing that ensued.

It was a warmish, windy Autumn day (I think it's safe to assume that every day in Melbourne is windy) and I'd just got mah roots did – I love it! I hadn't curled it, though, so this is one of the few times I've worn it straight. Thanks to the wind (and the general nature of my super-fine hair) my brushed, smoothed locks were windswept in a most unappealing way – I'm not one of those lucky girls that can do windswept hair, and just look bedraggled instead. Oh well. Such is life. I've had this rust coloured dress for years now, and I do like it's huge, almost Amish collar – and I knew when I bought it that it would look great with red hair... it was a long time in coming, but I knew I'd be a red head! The tights with the gold bow seams are form Forever New, the belt is from Dotti, and the bag and cardigan are from asos. Speaking of the bag, I took some pictures of it to do a "what's in my bag" post, but some of them were blurry and I decided to re-do it all. Let's hope my camera isn't actually sick, and was just having a bad day. We can all have those every now and then. I've also taken some pictures of the clothes on the clothes racks (it was very dark, we'll see how they turn out) and loads of pictures of the late 1930s, early 1940s dresses, too – again, we'll see how they turn out. I look forward to doing these posts. I'll tell you how I care for these old, old dresses and how to date them, too.

And hooray, it's Friday! I'm really looking forward to this weekend, which should involve some more couch (and therefor blog) time than the last one. We'll be seeing some bands, going to a sort-of art opening, and having lunch with some friends. What are you up too?
