Hello hello! As I mentioned earlier, I have lots of giveaways coming up! In fact I have seven all sorted and coming up over the next few weeks, thanks to Schweppes. Yay!
Schweppes are re-launching their mineral waters and so here is some information:
1. Schweppes Mineral Water is sourced from pure Australian springs, giving it a clean, crisp taste that will not linger on the palate and interfere with the enjoyment of food, therefore making it a perfect accompaniment to meals.
2. Schweppes Flavoured Mineral Waters have 25% less sugar than leading Soft Drinks, making them a healthier alternative.
3. Schweppes Mineral Waters have all natural colours and flavours, making them a healthier alternative to full sugar soft drinks
and all this sounds pretty good to me. I’ll be honest, I’ve yet to try any but as I always, always, have their soda water at home, I have the feeling I might just like them too.
And this is the perfect time to share my amazing scone recipe. This is honestly how I make them, and I thought the coincidence of one of the ingredients was too good to pass up. These scones are delicious, fluffy and light and just perfect… and guess what soda water I use?
So, to make my amazing scones, you need:
– self raising flour
– butter
– milk
– soda water
– lemon juice
It’s the quickest and easiest thing. Pre heat the oven to about 230C, mix everything in a bowl, adding the soda water last. I have no idea about amounts, but aim for a consistency that is very sticky and almost dry, and scoops out of the bowl easily – everything should stick together. Put fat dollops onto an oven tray lined with baking paper, and cook for 8-12 minutes. My oven is on the hot side, so I check after about 8 minutes, but it can take a little longer.
When they’re done, remove from the oven and lift the scones in their paper hammock and place on a rack to cool. Then, because it’s impossible to wait too long, try not to burn your fingers when you add butter, jam and cream. Last night we had blueberry jam. Yum.
Now, on to the giveaways! Here they are, in a list, and I’ll be posting them over the coming weeks. Do you have a favourite?
– 1x Witchery Voucher to one reader worth $200
– 3x KIT nail polish packs to three readers worth $30 each
– 3x double Gold class tickets worth $65 each
– 2x Kikki K Stationery packs worth $50 each
– 2x Loccitane Handcream worth $40 each
– 1x Brunch with the girls worth $100
– 1x Beauty/Spa day pack worth $150
A pretty good list, isn’t it? I look forward to hosting these and I hope you enjoy them too!
