Last Sunday, I got to wear for the first time – well, my first time – not one, but two new vintage pieces. As much as I love dresses and tend to look mainly for frocks in my vintage searches, I do love some good separates, too. This blouse was just too special to pass up. I love the buttons around the star neckline, the pale powder blue, the strong shoulders and the perfect fit, and I can even do up those buttons on the back all by myself, if you give me a couple of minutes. The hat was bought not long after the blouse, and I am chuffed that they are a great colour match; obviously the hat is much darker but the blues are very much friends. I'd been dancing in the damp mountain air the night before and had no intentions of re-setting my hair before bed, so my straight hair it was. I love veils on hats, but they are a bit much, for me, to wear down over my face for a cold and casual spring day. Perhaps some evening hat-wearing will happen soon?
